How To Use The MrCool DIY Ductless Mini Split Remote

The MrCool DIY Ductless Mini Split remote helps control the indoor unit to your exact needs. This video goes into depth about the features included with your MRCOOL unit.

We have unboxed and installed our MRCOOL DIY Ductless Mini Split and we couldn't be more excited. This unit comes with a whole host of great features, starting with the wireless remote. I'm here to show you how to navigate it so you can get the most out of your ductless mini split.

Most importantly, there is the On/Off button. That does exactly what you would think.
Next, there are the temperature up and down buttons. Pressing these buttons will change the temperature in one degree increments. Holding down the temperature button for three seconds will alternate the temperature display from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
The mode button allows you to change the settings from auto, to cool, dry, heat, and fan. The fan button lets you set the fan speed to auto, low, medium, and high.
Next is the sleep button. You can press this button when you're ready to go to sleep. When the unit is in cool mode, it will increase the temperature by two degrees after one hour and another two degrees after two hours. The unit will do the opposite when in heat mode. The unit will turn off after seven hours.
Then there's the turbo and self-clean button. The turbo function allows the unit to reach the preset temperature at cooling or heating operation in the shortest time. The self-clean mode automatically cleans and dries the evaporator and keeps it fresh for the next operation.
Next is the silence/FP button. When the silence button is pressed, the compressor will operate at a low frequency, keeping the unit as quiet as possible. Holding the button for two seconds enables the FP mode or the freeze protection mode. This can only be enabled within the heat setting.
Next is the timer button. The timer On/Off feature is useful when you would like to set the unit to turn automatically on or off at a specific time. Each press will increase the auto time setting in 30 minute increments. When the setting time displays 10, each press will increase the auto time setting by 60 minute increments. To cancel the auto time programs simply adjust the auto on time to zero. The auto time off button to operate in the same way.
The swing button allows the unit to change the direction of airflow automatically. The direct button allows you to set the direction of the air flow.
Pressing the follow me button shows the temperature of any place the remote is located. The remote will send a signal to the air conditioner every three minutes. The unit will then heat or cool based on the unit's location.
Finally, there is the LED button. This button allows you to turn off the LED display so you can sleep in total darkness. Turning off the LED does not change the operation of the unit.
