Energy Efficiency: Cost-Effective Climate Control

The MRCOOL Advantage Series is designed to deliver high efficiency, with impressive SEER2 ratings across all models. Whether you’re heating or cooling a smaller room or a larger living area, these systems are optimized for performance and energy savings.

  • SEER2 ratings: Up to 21.7 for the 9,000 BTU/h models, ensuring efficient cooling.
  • HSPF2 ratings: Up to 9.1, providing energy-efficient heating even during the coldest months.

For larger spaces, the 18k, 24k, and 36k models maintain strong efficiency ratings, making them ideal for more extensive home setups. The national average operating costs reflect the energy savings you can expect:

  • Cooling Cost: Starting as low as $125 for smaller models.
  • Heating Cost: Starts at $380, depending on the model and local climate conditions.

Electrical Specifications: Built for Compatibility

The MRCOOL Advantage Series is designed to work with standard home electrical systems, making installation straightforward for certified HVAC technicians. Below are the electrical requirements for each model:

  • Power Supply:

    • A-09 and A-12: 115V ~ 60Hz, 1Ph
    • A-18, A-24, and A-36: 208-230V ~ 60Hz, 1Ph

Refrigerant & Piping: Environmentally Friendly Efficiency

The MRCOOL Advantage Series utilizes R-410A refrigerant, which is both environmentally friendly and highly efficient. The piping size for liquid and gas sides varies by model:

  • 18k, 24k, and 36k models: 1/4” liquid / 1/2” gas

Disclaimer: Important Installation Information

The MRCOOL Advantage Series comes with non-charged line sets. While the compressor is pre-charged with refrigerant, the line set and air handler are not. If you choose to install this system yourself, follow these critical steps:

  1. Do not open the king valve on the condenser until the system is ready.
  2. Connect the non-charged refrigerant line sets to the condenser and air handler, but do not open the king valves yet.
  3. Using an a/c gauge set, hook up the low-side hose to the service port on the king valve and the other hose to a vacuum pump. Pull a vacuum on the system for 15-30 minutes to remove nitrogen or ambient air.
  4. Disconnect the gauge hose from the service port and replace the cap. Then, open the king valves using the included Allen wrench, releasing the charge into the system.
  5. If installing a longer line set (more than the included 16' line set), additional refrigerant may be required. In this case, we recommend using an HVAC professional.

While DIY installation is possible, it’s highly encouraged to hire a technician for longer line set installations.

Conclusion: The Power and Efficiency of the MRCOOL Advantage Series

The MRCOOL Advantage Series offers versatile, energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions for homes of all sizes. Whether you’re installing the 9,000 BTU/h model for a smaller room or the 36,000 BTU/h model for a larger space, these systems deliver reliable, cost-effective comfort year-round.
