MRCOOL DIY® 5th Gen 12K BTU ENERGY STAR® Single Zone Mini Split Heat Pump

The MRCOOL DIY® 5th Gen 12,000 BTU Single Zone Mini Split is a high-efficiency ductless heat pump designed for homeowners who want powerful heating and cooling without the cost of professional installation. Built for rooms up to 550 sq. ft., this system combines DIY-friendly installation, ENERGY STAR® efficiency, and eco-friendly R-454B refrigerant to deliver year-round comfort with lower energy costs.

Using MRCOOL’s patented QuickConnect® pre-charged line set, this system installs without vacuum pumps, special tools, or HVAC certification. If you’re comfortable using basic tools, you can install it yourself.

Line Set Options (Important to Know)

Every MRCOOL DIY 5th Gen system includes a 25’ pre-charged line set and control wire. If your installation requires a different length, we custom-bundle your order so you receive the correct pre-charged line set and matching control wire, ready to install.

Longer or alternate line set selections may add 1–2 business days to order preparation so we can configure everything correctly.

We do not recommend splicing control wires. Continuous, factory-length cable ensures reliable communication and long-term system performance.
